But Square Enix believes that the situation is fixable – almost immediately after the release and until the new year, sales of Guardians of the Galaxy began to grow thanks to discounts. The publisher believes the game will make up for the weak start over time.
Square Enix’s overall revenue declined due to the lack of major releases on the level of Final Fantasy VII Remake and Marvel’s Avengers, with Final Fanasty XIV bringing in most of the money, which gained momentum due to the Endwalker expansion.
