There shouldn’t be any difficulties in the development of Forspoken – this is excepted as a release postponement reason. Of the new release date for Forspoken is January 24, 2023.
Forspoken fans will have to be patient. Square Enix has announced that the release date has been pushed back again. Luminous Productions’ RPG was previously scheduled for October 11, 2022. However, this was not the first appointment. The title was originally scheduled for release on May 25, 2022.
Why has Square Enix pushed back the Forspoken release date again?
“Following ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to postpone the launch of Forspoken to January 24, 2023. All elements of the game are now complete and development is entering the final ‘polishing’ phase. […] We can’t wait to share more about Forspoken with you over the summer,” the Twitter post read.

Which decision is meant in detail, this question remains open. October may be “too hot” for Forspoken. There are now some high profile titles coming out this month like Overwatch 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or Gotham Knights. Shortly thereafter it was announced that God of War Ragnarök will come in November.
Is there a replacement? RPG and Square Enix fans don’t have to be sad though: With Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 a remake is coming back to screens, rumored to be in winter 2022/2023. It is unclear whether this will be possible before Christmas, the Japanese publisher still owes us an exact release date.

Forspoken will be released on January 24, 2023 and will be released for PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Windows PC.
