Palakkad: A youth and his driver have been remanded in custody in connection with the murder of RSS worker Srinivasan in Melamuri. Srinivasan was hacked to death by three of the six men who arrived in three two-wheelers. Investigators have arrested the first person to be hacked to death.
Also in custody is a young man who was involved in a murder plot and drove away to help the accused escape following the murder. Both are SDPI activists.
So far, nine people have been arrested in the Srinivasan case.
ADGP Vijay Sakhare said that they are working hard to find the remaining culprits. The progress of the investigation will be assessed under the leadership of IG Ashok Yadav.
