St. Pelagiberg: 19-year-old crashes head-on into an oncoming car when overtaking

Two people were injured in a car accident in St. Pelagiberg TG on Friday followingnoon. As reported by the Thurgau canton police, a driver was driving on the canton road in the direction of Waldkirch shortly before 1.30 p.m. According to previous knowledge, he wanted to overtake the car of a 33-year-old man driving in front of him at the end of the village. He overlooked the oncoming vehicle of a 40-year-old woman.

When the 19-year-old noticed this and wanted to switch back to the right lane, there was first a grazing collision with the overtaken car and then a head-on collision with the woman’s oncoming passenger car. In the collision, the 19-year-old was slightly injured and the 40-year-old moderately injured. They were taken to the hospital by the ambulance. The 33-year-old driver and his occupants were unharmed. Significant damage was done to the vehicles.
