Stabbed to death while robbing a residence in Halifax

A man has been stabbed to death while attempting to carry out a home invasion in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

It was around 7 p.m. last Friday that the police were called to intervene on Robie Street. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a 26-year-old man who had been badly stabbed. His death was pronounced on the spot.

The investigation revealed that the victim, Anthony Robert Herritt, and Tyler Jayson Saulnier, 28, broke into a residence when confronted by its occupant. An altercation between the three individuals reportedly ensued.

«[Saulnier] fled the scene, but then surrendered to the police,” said the police force in a press release, specifying that it was not a random incident.

No criminal charges have yet been made in connection with the young man’s death. However, his accomplice faces charges of breaking and entering to commit a criminal act of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, wearing a disguise and breach of probation.
