Authorities in Canada announced the discovery of the body of a suspect in the horrific stabbings that occurred Sunday in the province of Saskatchewan.
Police found the body of Damian Sanderson, 31, in the James Smith Cree Nation, where the stabbings occurred.
Police said his brother, Miles Sanderson, was still at large, and suggested he was in Regina. She urged residents to be vigilant.
The stabbing incidents resulted in the deaths of ten people, in addition to 18 wounded.
The incident is considered one of the deadliest mass violence in Canada.
There is tension in Regina, where the two suspects were last seen.
Damien’s body was found near a house that was being monitored, according to Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore.
She said the body had “visible wounds”.
Miles Sanderson was known to police and had a “proven and long criminal record including crimes once morest individuals and assaults on property”.
Police are investigating stabbings in 13 different locations.
The terrible accident shook the province of Saskatchewan. After the accident, a state of emergency was declared.
Most of the victims were residents of the remote “James Smith Cree Nation”, which has regarding 2,000 people.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Monday: “This kind of violence, or any kind of violence, has no place in our country.”
“Such tragedies have become very common,” he added.
