GSC Game World is currently present at Gamescom to present STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl in playable version, for the very first time. Unfortunately, the studio is also forced to postpone the game, once again, to release it in good conditions.
STALKER 2 is now scheduled for release in early 2024
It’s like that every year. The closer we get to the end of the year, the greater the chances of seeing postponed games. While waiting for other obvious postponements, it is STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl which will therefore miss its release once again, now scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.
STALKER 2 will therefore be released between January and March 2024, information confirmed by the developers in the game’s press kit and which Xboxygen was able to consult.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S in Q1 2024. The game will also be available in Game Pass Day One and pre-orders are available on our website.
At Gamescom, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said the STALKER 2 team was close to his heart because of “everything they had to deal with”. It was then a question of putting a few final touches before the release, but we have to believe that a few additional months will not be too much.
As a reminder, STALKER 2 was originally supposed to be released on April 22, 2022, but Russia’s invasion of Ukraine upset the Ukrainian studio, which had to postpone the game several times. Some studio members went to war to defend their country, and the game changed its name in protest against the Russian invasion.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is now slated for Q1 2024 on Xbox Series X|S and PC as well as Xbox Game Pass. It is possible that the game will then be released on PlayStation 5 three months later. Indeed, this is the duration of the Xbox exclusivity of the game, communicated in documents released as part of the case between Epic Games and Apple.
