Dubai: An agreement has been signed with Star Cinema to set up new cinema theaters in Lulugroup’s shopping malls in the UAE. 22 new screens will start operating in various malls in Abu Dhabi. Star Cinema theaters will also be set up in malls in Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah. Ahmad Gulshan, founder of Fars Film and Starcinema, and MM Ashraf Ali, executive director of Lulu Group International, signed the deal for the new cinema theaters.
The 22 new screens will be installed at Al Raha Mall, Al Wahda Mall, Al Fu’ah Mall and Barari Outlet Mall in Abu Dhabi. This is in addition to the existing 76 screens. Apart from this, there is an agreement to open cinema theaters in Silicon Central Mall, Sharjah Central Mall and Rak Central Mall in Dubai Silicon Oasis. The deal was signed with LINE Investments, the mall development arm of the Lulu Group. With the new deal, Star Cinema has become the second largest cinema operating company in the UAE in terms of number of cinema screens, the firm claimed in a press release.
