The next super Star Wars production will be a video game and it will be signed by Ubisoft, which is unveiling a brand new trailer telling us its story.
In gestation for several years at Ubisoft, Star Wars Outlaws took advantage of an event in June 2023 to very officially reveal itself, including a video showing the gameplay of this third-person shooter, where we will play a young woman on whom the fate of the galaxy depends.
Become a “rascal”
Little was known about the story, notably that it takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi (episodes 5 and 6). With the heroine, called Kay Vess, and Nix, an adorable adventure companion, the player must be projected across different planets, some of which were imagined for the game.
The new trailer reveals more about the story of this Star Wars Outlaws. As the entire galaxy is destabilized by attacks between the Empire and the Rebellion, the heroine is pursued by a crime syndicate. On the run, she will have to travel through space in order to build a reputation, notably by signing with other organizations.
“The resourceful Kay and Nix will travel through the criminal underworld and the Outer Rim,” promises Julian Gerighty, the game’s creative director.
Star Wars Outlaws is developed by Massive, to whom we owe The Division saga. We will therefore be able to find very open areas made up of multiple missions to carry out, whether important or not, with a gameplay component close to infiltration. Because Kay Vess will be able to count on Nix to get out of difficult situations even though they are one of the most sought-after duos in the galaxy.
Far from the Star Wars Jedi franchise, supported by Respawn Entertainment, and which puts us in the shoes of a Jedi, Outlaws features a smuggler, “a scoundrel”, even explains Ubisoft, who fights using her blaster and her gadgets. Among the confirmed worlds, fans will notably find Tatooine, home planet of the man who became Darth Vader…
While waiting to see if the adventure is worth it, we know the release date: it will be August 30 on PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series.
