Individual solutions in positive cases
The responsible Minister Martin Polaschek (ÖVP) does not want to present the exact corona measures for the education sector until August 29th. All signs are still pointing to the start of school without the obligation to wear masks and tests, which was also welcomed by Education Minister Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister (ÖVP) in a press conference on Friday: “If a positive case occurs in a class, then it may be that masks are put on once more”. , according to Teschl-Hofmeister, individual solutions are needed.
In general, she welcomes the fact that the same rules apply to the general public and in schools. Whether, as planned nationwide, asymptomatic, corona-positive teachers can also be in the classes in Lower Austria, remains open to the state education minister. Other federal states such as Vienna, Burgenland, Carinthia or Salzburg are currently tending towards their own solutions.
