The 12th edition of the Ski Mountaineering World Cup and 4th edition of the Comapedrosa Andorra has given the official kick-off this afternoon with the inauguration that has been celebrated in the town of Arinsal, which was attended by the Minister of Culture and Sports, Sílvia Riva, the Consul General of Massana, Olga Molné, the General Manager of the ISMF, Roberto Cavallo, and the official delegate of the ISMF, Jordi Canals. All of them have celebrated the arrival of a new World Cup in Andorra, and specifically in La Massana and Arinsal.
In the act, the consul major has welcomed all the participants and spectators, and has valued the effort of the organization so that all those who will experience the test leave with the best possible memories. In addition, the official delegate of the ISMF thanked the reception received by the Andorran institutions, as well as the organization for the efforts to adapt the circuit to the weather conditions. Lastly, the Minister of Culture and Sports reaffirmed the support from the Government to host the Ski Mountaineering World Cup and, in this way, the athletes of the Andorran Mountaineering Federation enjoy a test of the world circuit in home, as well as all lovers of this sport who this year will be able to enjoy the same route as the World Cup runners with the Open test.
Delivery of the numbers to the Top 5 competitors of the world ranking
The ceremony has concluded with the delivery of the numbers to the Top 5 competitors in the world rankinghe. A) Yes, Axelle Gachet (France), Giulia Murada (Italia), Silvestro’s Dawn (Italia), Celia Perillat-Pessey (France) and Caroline Ulrich (Switzerland), in the female category, and Remi Bonnet (Swiss), David Magnini (Italia), Thibault Anselmet (France), William Bon Mardion (France) and Robert Antonioli (Italy), in the men’s category, have gone up on stage to collect their respective numbers for tomorrow’s competition. Individual Race, the first test of the World Cup
Tomorrow the first test of the World Cup will take place, the Individual Race, which as a novelty also incorporates the Open modeopen to all non-professional practitioners, thus allowing them to compete on the same route as the World Cup runners, and scoring for the Park Piolets Andorra Cup of Mountain Skiing and the Catalan Cup of Mountain Skiing.
The test path It will take place entirely within the ski domain of Pal Arinsalspecifically in the Arinsal sector, and its goal is to reach the Layer Alt Peak, located at 2,570 meters, with a total drop of 1,400 meters. In this way, the C circuit announced on Wednesday is maintained, with a small variation.
This change will not affect the spectacularity of the test since, despite being carried out entirely within the ski area, it continues to maintain the same high mountain characteristics, as well as its high sporting level.
The starting gun will be at 9.30 h with the start of the senior women’s Individual Race, followed by the senior men’s category, scheduled for the 10.40 h. At 11:40 a.m. the participants of the Open modality will leave and in the afternoon the awards ceremony of the Individual will take place in the town of Arinsal, and the delivery of the Top-5 numbers for the Vertical on Sunday.
