This February 7, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., Hogwarts Legacy Hogwarts Legacy was supposed to be released on Steam for those who purchased the Deluxe Edition. However… Many people encounter a big problem, still at this time: impossible to launch the game paid at full price.
Enough is enough !
Already angry for the famous 72-hour early access which was ultimately only … 50 hours because of the release at 7:00 p.m. and not at midnight unlike consoles, PC players are currently out of their minds. If a few lucky ones have managed to access Hogwarts Legacy for a few minutes already, most Internet users cannot even start it.
Obviously, the Steam servers are overloaded and could be the cause, but nothing is certain since the platform is supposed to be able to manage a large number of downloads and players simultaneously. It seems to be rather un bug which mixes the standard and deluxe versions.
Is there a solution?
For more than an hour, Internet users have been busy looking for an effective solution. Unfortunately, we don’t have the game on PC and can’t confirm what works or not, but don’t hesitate to tell us in the comments what you have tried on your side! According to some users, a possible solution would be the following:
- Open Steam in Admin Mode
- Click on the Steam icon at the top left of your screen then on “Settings”,
- Go to “Downloads” > Steam folder > Check Hogwarts Legacy and finally click on the three dots at the top right to “repair folder”. (technique not recommended if you have a slow connection… This will re-install the entire game)
- Go back to downloads to see an update launch.
Steam probably on the spot, do not hesitate to relaunch the application several times in the evening to see if the problem is solved or not.
