Steve Guerdat, permanent statue in Bassecourt

Meeting Monday evening for the second time in a fortnight, the General Council of Haute-Sorne ruled – it is the case to say it – on the proposal of the UDC group to move the sculpture in honor of Steve Guerdat on the round -point between Bassecourt and the highway. “The Cheval-Blanc restaurant, man’s noblest conquest, no longer exists, and the surroundings are more often used as garbage dumps”, notes the author of the motion Grégory Gunzinger.

“This motion is dishonest vis-à-vis the Société d’embellissement de Bassecourt (SEB), which worked tirelessly to have the statue placed there in 2015”, retorts Alain Girardin, the head of the Haute-Sorne Avenir group. (HSA).
