From legend to junk. In an interview given to RTBF, Steven Defour talks about his status at Standard.
In 2014, Steven Defour made his comeback to Sclessin under the colors of the great rival: Anderlecht. The former Red Devil will always remember the tifo displayed by Standard supporters: “Red or Dead”. He confides: “At the time, I didn’t say anything, but it affected me deeply.” From now on, he prefers to put this past behind him.
The prospect of a possible return to Standard? It seems delicate to him, given the sensitivity of the subject. With each clash against the Rouches, Defour is inevitably the target of negative messages on social networks.
However, Defour remains hopeful of turning the page one day: “Often, people tend to remember the only negative aspect among ten positive things. But I still wish Standard good luck: it’s a magnificent club with supporters passionate.”
During his time at Standard (2006-2011), Steven Defour won two national titles and a Croky Cup victory for 127 matches played.
