Investing.com – US stocks were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.
At the end of trading in New York, it recorded an increase of 1.26%, while it rose by 1.44% and consolidated its position at 1.74%.
Among the leading stocks today was Home Depot (NYSE: NYSE), which rose by 3.42%, or 9.76 points, to close at 295.12. On the other hand, 3M Group (NYSE:) added 2.27%, or 2.33 points, to close at 105.11, while Nike Inc (NYSE:) added 2.11%, or 2.54 points, to 122.64 by the end of the session.
As for the worst performer at the end of the day’s trading, Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:) closed down by 0.14%, or 0.05 points, and traded at 34.58 levels at the close. Shares in Amgen (NASDAQ:) increased by 0.10%, or 0.25 points, at a price of 241.75. Coca Cola Co. (NYSE:) closed up 0.29%, or 0.18 points, at 62.03.
On the other hand, the best performance in the Standard & Poor’s 500 index was recorded by a stock Align Technology (NASDAQ:), which rose by 7.15% at a price of 334.14, Tesla (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 6.24% and closed at 207.46 levels, as well as ServiceNow Inc (NYSE:) rose by 5.58% and ended its trading at a price of 464.18.
Among the stocks that performed the worst today, we mention the share of Micron Technology Company (NASDAQ:), which fell by 4.36%, and closed its session at a price of 60.34, a share. Generac Holdings Inc (NYSE:), which lost 3.55% at 108.00 shares Signature Bank (OTC:), which weakened by 3.05% and closed at 0.18 in today’s session on the stock exchange.
On the other hand, the best performance in the Nasdaq index was recorded by shares Y mAbs Therapeutics (NASDAQ:), which rose by 52.28%, at a price of 5.01, Guardforce AI Co Ltd (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 45.98% and closed at 7.08 levels, as well as shares Eastside Distilling Inc (NASDAQ:) rose to 45.11% and ended its trading at a price of 0.35.
Among the stocks that performed the worst today, we mention Gorilla Technology Group Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell by 59.29% and closed its session at a price of 4.80, a share. G Medical Innovations Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:), which lost 45.18% at a price of 0.91, and Virgin Orbit Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) share, which weakened by 41.19% and closed at a price of 0.20 today’s session on the stock exchange.
The number of gainers exceeded the number of shares that closed lower in trading on the New York Stock Exchange with 2473 compared to 524, while 73 remained unchanged. As for the Nasdaq stock exchange, 2576 of the stocks strengthened their position and 1049 retreated, while 144 of the stocks maintained their value.

The EUR/USD pair lost 0.55% and traded at 1.08 levels, while the USD/JPY pair continued its rise by 0.07%, reaching 132.74 levels.
Dollar index futures traded up by 0.44% at 102.27.
