Investing.com – US stocks were mixed at the end of trading on Tuesday, as gains in the , , and . On the other hand, losses were recorded in the , and , sectors, which led the indices lower.
At the end of trading in New York, it lost 0.42%, while it fell by about 0.15% and strengthened its position at 0.09%.
Among the leading stocks today was Merck & Co. (NYSE:), whose value rose 0.89%, or 1.05 points, and its price reached 118.43 at the close. On the other hand, Wal-Mart Stores (NYSE:) shares continued to rise by 0.67%, or 1.06 points, and closed at 159.31, while Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:) shares increased by 0.41%, or 0.61 points, to 149.30 at the end of the session.
As for the weakest performance at the end of today’s trading, Chevron Corp (NYSE:) stock closed down by 2.54%, or 3.80 points, and traded at 145.70 at the close. Dow Inc (NYSE:) shares declined by 2.07%, or 1.14 points, at a price of 53.94, while Walt Disney Company (NYSE:) shares closed down by 2.05%, or 1.88 points, at 89.67.
On the other hand, the best performance in the Standard & Poor’s 500 index was recorded by Juniper Networks Inc (NYSE:), which rose by 21.81% at a price of 36.81. Catalent Inc (NYSE:) also continued to rise at 5.87% and closed at levels 49.40, and Illumina Inc (NASDAQ:) shares rose about 4.55% and ended its trading at 139.74.
Among the weakest performing stocks today, we mention Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co (NYSE:), which fell by 8.92% and closed its session at 16.14, Eversource Energy (NYSE:), which lost 7.75% at 58.00, and Charles River stock. Laboratories Intl (NYSE:), which weakened by 5.17% and closed at 215.19 in today’s session on the stock exchange.
On the other hand, the best performance in the Nasdaq index was recorded by Sentage Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose by 62.91% at a price of 3.47. Zoomcar Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 60.96% and closed at 6.39. Likewise, Mountain Crest Acquisition Corp IV (NASDAQ:) stock rose by 48.14% and ended its trading at 21.48.
Among the weakest performing stocks today, we mention Denali Capital Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:), which fell by 35.44% and closed its session at 7.05, Elicio Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:), which lost 30.31% at 5.45, and Top. KingWin Ltd (NASDAQ:), which fell by 29.06% to close at 0.83 in today’s session on the stock exchange.
The number of stocks that declined exceeded the number of stocks that closed with an increase in trading on the New York Stock Exchange, with 2042 compared to 814, while 78 remained unchanged. As for the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2223 of the stocks declined and 1192 strengthened their position, while 101 of the stocks maintained their value.

Top KingWin Ltd (NASDAQ:) stock fell to its lowest record level ever, continuing to decline by 29.06%, or 0.34 points, at a price of 0.83.
