Vienna (OTS) – “The measures taken by Interior Minister Karner are having an effect: the number of police trainees has increased. A parliamentary question from the FPÖ shows that dozens more will begin their training as police officers by the end of the year than in 2018 under Interior Minister Kickl. More police officers in the future also mean more security. The comparison makes it certain: the People’s Party is a party for which security has top priority. The comprehensive recruitment campaign and the attractiveness of the police job that Interior Minister Gerhard Karner has carried out have proven to be absolutely right in the fight against the impending personnel shortage,” said the security spokesman and general secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, and concluded: “Herbert Kickl has… has been highlighted as a security risk in several respects and has clearly failed as interior minister. Gerhard Karner, on the other hand, is a guarantor of internal security in the country.”
