Storm Eunice: a wall collapses on a young girl who was in a car in Ransart

Storm Eunice is sweeping Belgium this Friday afternoon. In Ransart (Charleroi), the gusts caused a serious accident.

A mother and her 13-year-old daughter had gone together to Sainte-Marie school to pick up the little brother after school. The mother parked in a small parking lot near the school. The lady got out of the vehicle to pick up her child. Meanwhile, a loud “boom” was heard and the gable end of a building collapsed onto two cars, including the one the 13-year-old girl was in.

A firefighter who also came to pick up his children at school immediately intervened. A local resident went directly to the Jumet fire station to warn them, the telephone lines being very congested by the various calls.

Once there, firefighters extricated the girl. After the operation, she was taken care of by an ambulance and an SMUR. She was taken with her mother to the Marie Curie hospital. We do not know his exact state of health at this time.
