The Straßwalchen fire brigade was called to a major fire in neighboring Pöndorf (Upper Austria) on Sunday evening. A barn was on fire.
The Straßwalchner Florianijünger moved out at 9.30 p.m. with ten men and a turntable ladder vehicle to the Upper Austrian community on the border with Salzburg. The stable building of a farm in the district of Kirchham was on fire. It was the highest alert level. A total of 15 fire brigades from the region were in action. The fire was not under control before midnight, sources said. “There are no people or animals in danger,” said operations manager Alois Huemer.
