The Ministry of Interior of Kuwait has introduced a new service on Sahel App, the government’s single-window application. Newly added is the service of issuing leave of absence to domestic workers.
With this, it will be possible to prevent the voluntary cancellation of the residency status of domestic workers who stay outside the country for more than six months. The Kuwaiti sponsor has to submit a separate application for this through Sahel App.
But the authorities informed that the visa period of the worker should be valid during this period. The new move is part of the measures to make the government services completely digital.
The Sahel app has been developed by connecting the government ministries with the computer network of the Civil Information Authority. Currently more than 10 lakh subscribers are registered on Sahel app.
