Tunisair announced the cancellation of its scheduled flights today, and the postponement of it to Friday, Saturday and Sunday, due to the general strike.
The company said that passengers on delayed flights can refund the value of their tickets or change the reservation for free over a week, if the timing of the delayed flights does not match their obligations.
The Tunisian General Labor Union had announced the implementation of a general strike on Thursday, extending to the aviation sector.
The strike includes 159 government institutions and establishments, including “10 airports”, where all flights will be canceled, according to a union official.
Wajih al-Zaidi, Secretary General of the General Transport Association of the Labor Union, said that Thursday’s strike includes all domestic airports and Tunis-Carthage airport.
