Strike of October 13: “almost normal” traffic for TGVs, “disruptions to be expected” on TER and Intercités

The first “trends” do not suggest a “black Friday” on the French rails. The SNCF plans “almost normal” circulation of high-speed trains this Friday, October 13, the date of the inter-union strike for salary increases, gender equality or even a “just ecological transition”.

On the other hand, “disruptions are to be expected”, warns the railway company, on regional trains: Transiliens and TER. Intercity traffic will also be disrupted. In what proportions? The SNCF will give all the details this Thursday, at 5 p.m. “on the usual channels”, in other words its website and its application. As usual, travelers affected by possible cancellations will be notified directly.

Flights canceled at Orly, Marseille and Beauvais

In the air sector, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) asked airlines to cancel 40% of their flights at Orly, 20% at Marseille-Provence and 15% at Beauvais, due to the call for the mobilization of the Usac-CGT. The majority union, the SNCTA, for its part did not call on air traffic controllers to strike.

At SNCF, despite the involvement of three of the four representative unions (CGT Cheminots, SUD Rail, CFDT Cheminots), the mobilization of railway workers looks set to be quite weak. The strike movement of September 26, called by these same organizations, was not very well attended either, with little disruption.

The unions, however, want to “keep up the pressure” in anticipation of the internal mandatory annual negotiations (NAO), scheduled for early November. “There are strong concerns among railway workers about salaries,” insists Julien Troccaz, SUD Rail federal secretary. The mobilization this Friday is a new warning to the management of the SNCF. »
