Stroke, the silent danger – Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society

Stroke occurs in up to one-fourth of the world’s population. There is a high chance of disability and death if not treated within a reasonable time.

You will be at risk If there are any of the following risk factors

  • high blood pressure
  • diabetes
  • smoking
  • irregular heartbeat
  • hyperlipidemia
  • drink alcohol
  • lack of exercise
  • fat

Initial symptoms

1. Stiff tongue, difficulty speaking, slurred speech, incomprehensible language.

2. The corner of the mouth falls, the face is crooked.

3. Arm/leg weakness in half

4. Half tea

5. Dizziness with staggered walking

6. Double vision or can’t see the hemisphere

7. Unconscious

Recommendation: If there are symptoms mentioned above, the patient should be taken to the hospital immediately.
