The share prices were under strong pressure in today’s session of the Athens Stock Exchange, with the market being led to a violent fall, falling below the levels of 1,250 units.
The General Price Index closed at 1,247.51 points, down 2.04%.
Intra-sessionally it recorded a higher price at 1,275.81 units (+0.18%) and a lower price at 1,241.66 units (-2.50%).
The total market capitalization decreased by 1.61 billion euros compared to the previous session.
The value of transactions amounted to 108.35 million euros, while 29,720,498 shares were traded.
The large-cap index fell 1.86%, while the mid-cap index fell 2.37%.
Of the high capitalization shares, only the Jumbo share (+1.25%) registered an increase.
On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of Ellactor (-6.10%), Aegean (-4.25%), PPC (-3.85%), Piraeus (-3.85%), Alpha Bank (-3.84%) and Lamda Development (-3.73%).
Of the individual indices, only the index of Personal products (+1.07%) showed an increase, while the biggest losses were recorded by the indices of Trade (-4.26%), Raw Materials (-3.48%), Construction (-2.95%). The banking index closed down 2.44%.
The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Piraeus, trading 10,018,867 and 6,100,004 shares, respectively.
The highest value of transactions was recorded by Piraeus with 17.48 million euros and Alpha Bank with 13.86 million euros.
11 stocks moved up, 98 fell and 12 remained stable.
The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Xylemporia (p) +4.21% and Moda Bango +1.92%
The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Mylos Kepenou -9.52% and Mathios Pyrimaha -9.15%.
