Student Union emerges again as the strongest faction in the LSV elections in Vienna

The student union secured itself in the LSV elections in Vienna on June 26th. two of the three state school speakers and 11/24 mandates and thus emerged as the group with the most votes

Vienna (OTS) – The LSV elections also took place in Vienna. In the coming school year, the student union will provide 6 out of 8 mandates in the BMHS area and 5 out of 8 mandates in the BS area. The student union not only provides the most mandataries, but also 2 of the 3 state school spokespersons.

This year, Team Melior stood for election in Vienna. In terms of content, the students focused together as a team on expanding media skills, cross-school networking through LSV events and the introduction to the world of artificial intelligence.

“It is important to us to be a fair and responsible voice for all students in Vienna. Next year we want to focus on the installation of modern technologies and the networking of schools in the classroom. It is particularly important to us that the Schools in Vienna will become pioneers in the digital and social area,” said Marius Hladik, designated BMHS state school spokesman. Raghad Seif Aldin adds: “We look forward to the work that lies ahead of us and would like to thank our voters. In the vocational schools in particular, we will be launching some large pilot projects next year and no longer want apprenticeships as a way out from school, but see it as a great opportunity.”

With more than 30,000 members, the student union is the largest student organization in Austria, in which the members volunteer. Due to its wide range of services, such as the school law emergency hotline and various further training courses, it is considered an important contact point for students. In addition, she brings her demands to the Federal Student Council (BSV), in which she has 26 out of 29 mandates in the 2022/23 school year. The federal school spokeswoman Flora Schmudermayer also comes from the student union.
