Choosing the ultimate ball gown can be a real challenge – color, cut, fit and then there’s the financial aspect. The principal dancers of the Vienna State Ballet don’t have to worry about that, because they will be perfectly dressed for the Vienna Opera Ball (February 8th).
And from the designers Alexandra Gogolok-Nagl, Maiken Kloser and Marlen Sabetzer. The beautiful ball gowns were presented on Wednesday evening at the Couture Salon in Vienna’s Hotel Bristol.
The fashion designers were selected by a jury of designers Thang de Hoo: “One of the criteria was that it had to be suitable for a ball. It had to look beautiful for ten hours.” The deputy ballet director was also on the jury Louisa Rachedi as well as actress Lilian Klebow. However, the latter was unable to attend the Couture Salon because she fell ill at short notice.
Opera ball presenter Teresa Vogl has already looked at the dresses a bit and found some of them to be pleasing. “I would wear some of them and that’s a big compliment because you’re very picky when you need the dress for work.”
