Sturm Academy: A Legacy of Excellence in Youth Development by Hans Lang

2023-12-31 23:02:24

Excellent developer of youth

With the amateurs, Lang achieved promotion to the Regionalliga Mitte at LUV-Platz – and at the beginning of the 2000s he played a leading role in founding the Sturm Academy at the new facility in Gössendorf.

As Franco Foda’s right-hand man, he worked on the development of the amateurs and the academy between 2002 and 2006. When Sturm slid into the worst financial crisis in the club’s history in 2006, it was the talents Prödl, Leitgeb, Salmutter, Jantscher, Beichler, Krammer and Co. developed in the academy who ensured the rapid Sturm comeback from 2007 onwards. Lang made a decisive contribution with his work. When Franco Foda became head coach, Lang was at his side once more. And following the departure of sports director Oliver Kreuzer in the summer of 2011, he returned to the command bridge for another year.

In almost 18 years, Hans Lang has made great contributions to the Sturm sports club. Even though he has since retired, he will always remain a part of Sturm history. Ad multos annos and good health, dear Hans.
