Sturm Graz have strengthened their attack with the Polish U21 team striker Szymon Wlodarczyk. The 20-year-old switched from Gornik Zabrze to the Mur, according to information on Friday he received a four-year contract with Austria’s runners-up until 2027. Sturm dig deep into Wlodarczyk’s pockets. Graz is said to have transferred at least 2.5 million euros for the attacker, in Poland there was talk of a fee of three million euros.

Wlodarczyk would be the second most expensive entry in the club’s history. In 2001, Charles Amoah was worth more than 50 million shillings – almost 4 million euros – to Sturm. The Styrians should soon make another million sale: According to various media reports, Emanuel Emegha is regarding to leave, and Sturm has announced at least a two-digit million sum as a transfer fee for the Dutchman. Red Bull Salzburg is also considered interested.

“SK Sturm has made a very good name for itself in recent years as a development platform for top talent. The fact that another – extremely talented – young attacker has chosen Szymon Wlodarczyk for SK Sturm confirms this reputation,” said Sturms Sport -Managing Director Andreas Schicker. Since Rasmus Höjlund’s move to Bergamo, Sturm has the financial means to make millions of purchases – but also to resell players who have made millions.

The 1.90 m tall Wlodarczyk completed 30 games in the Polish Ekstraklasa last season, in which he scored nine goals. The professional, who comes from a family of athletes – his father Piotr played for Poland’s national team – joined Gornik last summer from Legia Warsaw. Wlodarczyk has scored four times in five games for Poland’s U21 team.

“Sturm as a club and the coaching team have proven in the past that they can take players to the next level in terms of football, so I see the perfect opportunities in Graz to develop myself as a player, to score goals and to help the team,” said Wlodarczyk in a storm broadcast regarding his motivation to come to Graz.
