Sturm U18 vs. Admira U18 2:1 (1:0)

Comment coach Harald Suchard:

After the successful start against Rapid Vienna (2-1 win) and a long break in the game, we had an opponent against Sturm Graz who was very dominant, especially through tackling and playing for the second ball.

In the first 35 minutes the game was evenly matched and both teams had their chances. We won a lot of second balls and were able to create good opportunities with good combination play. The solutions were also successful in building up the game under the opponent’s space and time pressure. Unfortunately, we were 1-0 behind due to a counterattack and with a bit of luck we were able to avoid a bigger deficit before the break.

When the second half kicked off, we were the team that dominated the game and were able to create more chances. After a short time, the thread in the game suddenly broke and we then had to face constant pressure. This pressure led to a deserved 2-0 win for Sturm Graz. We now put everything on one card and brought a breath of fresh air with 3 new players.

As if at the push of a button, a game developed on a slippery slope. We were able to score through a nice individual effort from Suschitz and shortly afterwards we also had the opportunity to equalize through Suschitz. The team showed incredible morale and will in the last 30 minutes – they really wanted to equalize. With a bit of luck, this would have been possible with Djordjevic’s last action. However, the Graz goalkeeper was there. Sturm Graz took the narrow lead over time. The team showed morale, especially in the second half, and gave everything until the end to turn the game around.

Tor:

1:2 Suschitz (60.)

Lineup:

Limbeck, Juric, Varyvoda (58. Schöny), Aigner, Nela, Djordjevic K. (79. Tasdemir), Kujovic, Steiner (73. Herzog) Olsa (58. Suschitz), Lörint (73. Djordjevic A.), Vasic (58. Orgler)
