Subsidies for Warsaw’s monuments are starting

In this year’s city budget, PLN 14 million was allocated for support. The amount will be divided into 56 tasks.

At the last session, city councilors of Warsaw adopted a subsidy resolution for works on Warsaw’s monuments.

– Thanks to this year’s subsidies, subsequent facades will regain their former glory. Conservation works will also include monuments and a tomb chapel, as well as painting decorations in the church and the Orthodox church, said Deputy Mayor Renata Kaznowska.

Councilors allocated almost PLN 6.4 million for 33 tasks related to buildings entered in the register of monuments, and over PLN 4.4 million for 23 tasks related to monuments included in the municipal register of monuments.

Granted funds will cover up to 60 percent. eligible expenses of individual renovations. The amount of the subsidy granted for the implementation of one task does not exceed PLN 300,000. zloty.

Beautiful facades Thanks to the subsidies, many renovations of facades will be carried out, among others, in the buildings at ul. Chmielna 20, ul. Krzywe Koło 30 i 2/4, pl. Zamkowy 1/13, Al. Jerozolimskie 23, ul. Myśliwiecka 10, ul. Przybyszewskiego 63/67. A wooden house at ul. Szynowa 12. Elements of the stone architectural decoration of the facade of the church of St. Kazimierz (Sakramentki) at the New Town Square 2.

Renovations will continue in buildings at ul. Puławska 28, Mickiewicza 34/36, Fletniowa 2 and works on the facades of the church of St. Stanislaus at ul. Wolska 76 or the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary at ul. Lublin Route.

Not only tenement houses Dotacje also received conservation work on 12 tombstones at the Stare Powązki Cemetery and tombstones at the Orthodox Cemetery in Wola. The tomb chapel of the Braeunig family at the Evangelical-Augsburg Cemetery will also undergo renovation.

Conservation works will be carried out on the wall paintings in the presbytery of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the parish of St. James in Ochota and painting decorations by Jerzy Nowosielski in the lower church of St. Jan Klimak in Wola.

In the first resolution, the councilors decided to allocate PLN 10.8 million for the renovation of monuments. The amount remaining in the budget will be distributed at a later date, including reimbursement of the costs of renovations carried out in 2022. Owners can apply for them from April 1 to May 2, 2023.
