Success for left-wing separatists in elections in the Basque Country – Spain

Vitoria – The separatist left-wing alliance EH Bildu celebrated a historic success in the parliamentary elections in the Spanish Basque Country on Sunday. After around 95 percent of the votes were counted, the alliance, which advocates for the independence of the region in northern Spain, won 27 seats – six more than in the last election in 2020, when EH Bildu, founded in 2012, won 21 Sitting had achieved the best result in its history to date.
