Suez Canal amends additional transit fees for oil tankers

CAIRO (Archyde.com) – The Egyptian Suez Canal Authority said on Tuesday that it had decided to amend the additional transit fees for loaded crude oil tankers to 15 percent, starting from May 1. It was also decided to continue to impose additional fees on empty tankers at the rate of five percent of the normal transit fees. A statement from the authority added, “These additional fees are temporary and can be modified or canceled according to the changes in the maritime transport market.”
