His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, affirmed that under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and founder of the University of Sharjah, the University is still very keen, And you do your best to always stay ahead. This came during a speech delivered by His Highness yesterday evening at the Alumni Association ceremony of the University of Sharjah, which was held at the Al Jawaher Center for Events and Conferences.
In his speech, His Highness welcomed the attendees, saying: “We welcome you to this first meeting with graduates of the University of Sharjah, this distinguished university founded by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and we are proud of its distinguished graduates in all fields.”
His Highness stressed the keenness to take care of university students, saying: “A while ago, I listened to a meeting with the heads of scientific and cultural clubs and student councils, and I told them that we are doing our best to keep your university in advanced positions always, even if the time for graduation came, you said to everyone (We are). University of Sharjah graduates and we are proud).
His Highness the President of the University of Sharjah announced the scientific development and high position of the university, which is preparing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its founding, saying: “The University of Sharjah will celebrate at the end of this academic year its silver jubilee, and we will announce that we are among the 100 most powerful young universities in the world, according to the classification of the Times The University of Sharjah is also the first at the state level in the fields of sustainable development, and 119th in the world, and it is the first at the state level in medicine, health sciences, computing and informatics, physics, space sciences and astronomy, and the second in engineering and technology. Between 250 and 300 globally in these disciplines, and the first in the country in sober scientific research, according to the data of the World Scopus Organization.”
His Highness concluded his speech by stressing that the university would like to be remembered by its graduates with love and gratitude, which is what we learned from His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, who always remembers the university where he graduated with all loyalty.
The ceremony began with verses from the Noble Qur’an, after which Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, gave a speech in which he thanked and appreciated His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi for his patronage and attendance at the annual ceremony of the Alumni Association, which reflects His Highness’s unlimited interest in all With regard to university students and graduates, which is a distinctive feature of the university that works to qualify its students in various sciences and literature, and communicates its generations of graduates.
The Director of the University of Sharjah indicated that the Alumni Association represents a major part of the university’s relations with the community, with all its specializations and works, through its graduates who are spread in all work facilities and various fields of community service, which makes them have multiple roles, in addition to that all members of the association are considered ambassadors of the university. They represent it well with the honorable levels they present in various scientific, applied, social and other fields, which reflect the distinguished level reached by the University of Sharjah.

The audience watched a visual presentation that dealt with the progress of the University of Sharjah since its establishment, the great efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness’s insightful vision in the care and follow-up of all the affairs of the university until it became one of the largest universities in the region. His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the presidency of the university, as a choice that happened to his family, to continue the march of the University of Sharjah towards more academic and scientific excellence.
For her part, Dr. Hanadi Obaid Al Suwaidi, President of the Alumni Association for the current session, delivered a speech in which she praised what the University of Sharjah offers to its students and graduates at all levels, scientific, cultural and social, which explains the prestigious position that the university occupies locally, regionally and internationally through various international classifications.
She addressed the history of the Association since its inception, and its achievements, calling in her speech for all male and female graduates to communicate with the University, and the Association to achieve its goals by consolidating the bonds of relations between the University and its graduates, instilling and enshrining the concepts of belonging and loyalty among the graduates, urging them to continue mutual giving and cooperation with the University , in order to advance community service and continue to care for the graduate.
At the end of the ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi honored the sponsors, namely the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Media City, and Tilal Real Estate. His Highness also received a souvenir from the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association of the University of Sharjah. The ceremony was attended by a number of Sharjah government officials, members of the University’s Board of Trustees and members of the administrative and teaching bodies.
