Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has initiated plans to establish a ‘futuristic university’ in Sultan Haitham City. Tenders are invited for contract to provide consultancy services for design and supervision of new educational landmark.
The ‘Futuristic University’ is one of the many cultural, religious, architectural and civil buildings envisioned on an area of 14.8 square kilometers at Haitham City in Seeb Province, Oman. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has signed an agreement with Strabag Oman Company for the first phase of Sultan Haitham City. The seven million riyal contract includes the development of the area adjacent to the Central Park to install road infrastructure, rainwater channels through wadis. The first phase of infrastructure construction will begin on December 28 and will be completed in three months. ‘Sultan Haitham City’ with modern facilities is planned in Seeb Vilayam with an area of about 15 million square meters.
