Game News Summer Game Fest, Xbox Showcase, PC Gaming Show: schedule of E3-style video game conferences for spring summer 2023
This year again, E3 has been canceled, but that does not prevent the biggest players in the video game industry from meeting from June. Here is everything that awaits us this summer.
For simplicity, the programming times quoted below are those of France.
June 7 at 6 p.m. and June 8 at 3 a.m.: MIX | GuerrillaCollective
Like every year, the Guerrilla Collective will be present to present us with a slew of independent games. We will have the right to two conferences: a premiere on June 7 at 6 p.m., and that of the “MIX”, on June 8 at 3 a.m.. On the program: “new announcements, trailers, gameplay, a Steam events page for wishlists, demos”. Last year, the show had highlighted Ugly or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.
June 8 at 9 p.m.: Summer Game Fest
If E3 has been cancelled, the Summer Game Fest is still there. Launched for the first time in 2020 and organized by Geoff Keighley (who already manages the Game Awards), it aims to bring together several major players in the video game industry. This year, there will still be so many of them and we can count among them: Activision, CD Projekt, Sega, FromSoftware and many others.. See you on June 8 at 9 p.m. on Twitch, YouTube or Twitter for the big inaugural conference. Since its creation, the event has become the nerve center of the biggest announcements in the industry. We think in particular of the gameplay of Elden Ring in 2021 or the remake of The Last of Us last year. We can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store!

June 11 at 7 p.m.: Xbox showcase
In 2023, Xbox returns for new announcements starting at 7 p.m., June 11. This year, the show will be divided into two parts. First there will be the usual event with perhaps news of a possible Hellblade II, DLC for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty or even Overdose, Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game. We can even hope to have more concrete information on the reboot of Fable. The Showcase will then continue with a Starfield Direct, dedicated to the eponymous game scheduled for September 6. Players are eagerly awaiting this new futuristic role-playing game set in the year 2330. It will embody an explorer in search of the rarest artifacts in the galaxy.
Xbox will have the right to a second conference, “Showcase Extended”, on June 13 at 7 p.m.
June 11 at 10 p.m.: PC Gaming Show
Last year, the PC Gaming Show was very strong with no less than 45 games presented. This year, it is doing even better since, according to the organizer PC Gamer, nearly 55 apps will be unveiled, including 16 new titles. During the event, we can expect news from Baldur’s Gate III or even Dune Awakening. To find out more, you will have to go to YouTube or Twitch on June 11 at 10 p.m. “Our goal is always to elevate the wide range of innovative and creative work on PC, from big series like PUBG, XCOM and ARK to genre-defining stuff like Valheim,” says Evan Lahti, Editor-in-Chief.
June 12 at 7 p.m.: Ubisoft Forward
Ubisoft’s annual show returns for new announcements on June 12 at 7 p.m. For the moment, little information is circulating about the content of the show, because the publisher has postponed some of these major titles (Assassin’s Creed Infinity and Skull and Bones are now scheduled for 2024). Which doesn’t mean we won’t have any information about them. And after the cinema release of Avatar 2, players also hope to have news of the software from the universe of James Cameron: Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. In addition, several rumors suggest that a “big game” could be announced, without further details.

August 22: Gamescom
The event which describes itself as “the largest in the world for video games and the most comprehensive in Europe for the industry” returns in 2023, from August 23 to 27. Gamescom is not just a conference, it’s also a festival, a cosplay meeting and a meeting place for fans of retrogaming or, on the contrary, new technologies. However, last year, this did not prevent the organizers from giving news of Evil West, Pentiment or even Hogwarts Legacy: the Legacy of Hogwarts. The inaugural show, hosted by Geoff Keighley, will take place on the evening of August 22.
