Summer holidays in Salzburg: If that’s not fun!

2023-07-12 02:00:00

In addition to countless holiday and leisure programs that can be booked well in advance, there are also a few last-minute offers. Here is an excerpt.

Nine weeks of summer vacation. What always looks like a very long time in the preview then flies by for many – also because there are dozens of holiday offers for young people. The City News have rounded up a few. Attention: The selection is incomplete, arbitrary and it is not a rating.

Kids Climbing Series in three halls

The Kids Climbing Series is taking place for the first time this summer. It is a climbing challenge for children up to 14 years of age. A total of 150 routes and boulders are screwed and marked in the six climbing halls and four bouldering halls. The children have time from July 15 to September 15 to master the routes and collect points for the overall ranking. The final for the best takes place on 23.

September in Salzburg. The participating halls in the city area: Salzburg climbing hall August 7th to 28th; Bouldering Hall Salzburg, August 29th to September 15th; Boulderbar Salzburg July 31st to August 20th.

Pony Club Salzburg: Riding with children

Giving children a gentle, playful introduction to horseback riding is one of the dreams that the trained tourism clerk Annika Heyer has been persistently realizing with her Pony Club Salzburg (Großgmain, Hierantl Gut) since 2014. Since last year, the Pony Club has also been certified as a Green Care operation – a tip, admittedly not in the city, but close to the city.

Backpack summer with 20 appointments

The backpack summer is a fixed point of the holiday offer of the city of Salzburg. During the free summer activities for the whole family, you can read, do handicrafts and practice together. At 20 dates in various parks and resident services until Friday, September 8th, the focus is on having fun. Drumming, origami workshops, herb walks and reading together. District mothers give tips and their own exercise folder for school preparation for the children.

Bike Park South (Otto-Holzbauer-Strasse)

Brand new – and not for the faint of heart: After the opening of the children’s course in spring, the “BikePark Süd” on Otto-Holzbauer-Straße was officially opened on Wednesday. On around 4000 square meters, young and old can let off steam on two wheels.

“Samma fit” in the gym

The gym chain My Gym is reviving its summer campaign for young people aged 14 to 18. Under the motto: “Samma fit”, this age group can train free of charge during the holiday season. The aim is to focus on the health of young people.

Off to the museum – cool not only when it rains!

Toy Museum, Salzburg Museum, DomQuartier, Museum of Modern Art: art education is also in full swing in summer. Some of the program includes own creative days, and the weekly series of workshops also continue for the most part in the summer. Visiting the exhibitions in the Museum der Moderne during the summer holidays is free for all children and young people up to the age of 19.

Learn for free with the AK

Go, please… But not at the beginning of the holidays! You can at least make a note of the offer: With the “Learning Compass” project, the Chamber of Labor is campaigning for more equal opportunities. There is space for 400 students: there will be the summer intensive course, learning support and online tutoring from autumn. Registrations are already possible via the website of the AK. The offer is free for children of AK members.
