Summer, which has been long overdue in Luxembourg, will rhyme with bargains during the sales which begin this Saturday and last until July 22 inclusive. “This is a positive point for consumers. Ready-to-wear brands have stock in all sizes. This suggests great promotions,” explains Claude Bizjak, deputy director at the Luxembourg Confederation.
The first weeks of sales are important “for merchants and customers alike. This is where there is the most frequentation, but also the most choice,” he adds. The crowds in the stores “also depend on the weather”. With temperatures reaching 29°C this Saturday, air-conditioned shops could be very popular.
In Belgium, the sales will take place from July 1 to 31, in France, from June 28 to July 25. “These few days of delay are a good thing for Luxembourg but it is not a strategy in itself. Instead, we rely on the diversity of our commercial offer to attract customers from the Greater Region,” says Claude Bizjak.
