Sunday’s election is an open race for Poland’s future – Poland

Tension in Poland is rising. Who will win the general election on Sunday? Again the ruling national populists from the Law and Justice party (PiS) with party leader Jarosław Kaczyński at the helm? That would be their third term in office in a row – and possibly the end of Poland’s membership in the EU. Or the democratic opposition with the liberal-conservative Citizens’ Coalition (KO) led by former Prime Minister Donald Tusk? However, without two other parties – namely the New Left and the conservative-centrist Third Way – the KO will probably not be able to form a government.
