On January 16, many online forums shared images that are said to be the new look of the cat mascot celebrating the Lunar New Year at the welcome gate of Suoi Tien Tourist Area (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City).
Share with Zing, The media representative of the resort confirmed that the unit had changed the mascot model at the welcome gate. Specifically, the cat has been sawed fangs, embellishing the eyes to look fresher and more vivid.
“In fact, we have prepared two versions of the cat mascot. Currently, the mascot’s appearance is more alive, similar to the young people who dress up to celebrate Tet”, he shared.
Before that, the first version of the model attracted great attention from Internet users in Vietnam. The mascot is designed to open its mouth, revealing 2 long fangs with the highlight of lethargic eyes.
This appearance is considered different from the usual cat image. Thousands of funny comments say that the cat is sleep deprived and tired, instead of radiant, joyfully welcoming the new year.

Besides the “sleepless” cat model in Suoi Tien, many mascots celebrating the Lunar New Year in many provinces and cities also attract attention from the online community. Some products have received a lot of positive feedback such as a pair of calico cats on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (HCMC) or athlete cats (Ben Tre).
In particular, a cat statue with a height of more than 3.1 m located in the square of Ai Tu town (Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province) received a rain of compliments from forums thanks to its lovely and charming appearance.
