Super League: 15 points ahead! FCZ beat Lausanne 2-0

Dunja Moustopoulos and Martin Arn

The game

Who is supposed to stop this FCZ? Definitely not the tail light from Lausanne. After just three minutes, the leader takes the lead. After the early setback, the home side became bolder, creating chances but ultimately failing themselves. Instead of pushing the ball coolly past Zurich keeper Brecher, Suzuki hammered his shot into the aluminum with the full instep just before the break.

After the change of sides, the game is pretty poor. Until Guerrero makes everything clear with his fourth goal of the season. Thanks to the victory, FCZ now has a lead of 15 (!) points over pursuer YB. Slowly but surely, the champagne should be chilled in Zurich.

Things are looking bad for Lausanne, on the other hand. You are now seven points behind on the relegation place. And a bitter statistic for coach Alain Casanova: He is the first coach in Super League history to lose all of his first six games.

The goals

3 minutes, 0: 1, Wilfried Gnonto: Krasniqi punches through on the right and lays back on Marchesano. This hits a buttery cross on Gnonto – the 1.70 man completes with his head.

69. Minute, 0:2, Adrian Guerrero: Seiler plays the ball flat into the back of the defence. At the edge of the penalty area, the game device finally comes to Adrian Guerrero, who doesn’t hesitate and pulls away. Because the shot is still deflected, Mory Diaw has no chance.

The best

Wilfried Gnonto is allowed to play again from the start and justifies his nomination with the opening goal.

The worst

Sofiane Alakouch loses the header duel before the 0:1 against Gnonto, the smallest man on the pitch.

That was something to talk about

After last Sunday’s pyro incidents, the fan blocks are closed. The 1,400 FCZ fans gather next to the guest sector and create an atmosphere that has never been admired in the new Lausanne stadium.
