Super Mario Bros. Wonder promises to bring news to the franchise’s 2D games and yesterday Nintendo revealed more details of the game along with a new version of the Nintendo Switch OLED during the Nintendo Direct event. In addition, she presented a 15-minute gameplay that can now be watched on YouTube.
Nintendo started by revealing that the plumber’s adventures will take place in the Kingdom of Flowers, which is not far from the Mushroom Kingdom, but is being attacked by Bowser, who has gained new powers.
The benevolent Prince Florian invites Mario and his friends to visit the Flower Kingdom, a land not far from the Mushroom Kingdom. But Bowser, King of Koopas, has other plans. After touching the mysterious Flor Maravilha (Wonder Flower), he merges with Prince Floriano’s castle, gaining new powers with which he begins to sow chaos. Now it’s up to Mario and his friends to stop Bowser and save the Flower Kingdom.
In this new story, players will have seven worlds divided into six areas to explore with new skills such as creating bubbles to capture enemies, using drills to overcome obstacles and even transforming into an elephant, in addition to several special powers for each color of Maravilha Flower found along the way.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder will also have online and local multiplayer game modes. Players will be able to use boards to return to specific points in the stages and will be able to share items with their friends. The most interesting thing is that the game will be released with Brazilian Portuguese localizationwhich should certainly please fans of the franchise around here.
Some of the playable characters will be Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, two Toads and Toadette and players will be able to count on the help of Yoshis and Nabbit for easier gameplay, as they do not take damage, but can lose lives if they fall into the lava or from heaven.
