If Nintendo recently abandoned Mario Kart Tour, the studio has not forgotten its first big smartphone game: Super Mario Run ! To celebrate the recent release of Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Switch, the iOS game received a small update. A good reason to dive back into this cool runner if you’ve never played it.
The new feature appears in the “Toad Challenges” multiplayer challenges. The prodigy flowers from the recent Switch opus appear there, bringing down new harmless golden Goombas to collect. These allow you to unlock new bonuses that can be used to decorate the main menu of the game. The new feature is part of a special event which will take place until March 14.
Updates for this game released in 2016 have become rarer over the years: the last one dates back to the release of the Mario film at the beginning of the year. Nintendo mobile games surviving this long are few in number, and the Japanese developer has quietly buried various titles like Dr. Mario or Dragalia Lost. Super Mario Run is still available on the App Storewith an in-app purchase billed at €11.99 allowing you to unlock the entire adventure.
