Since his release, Steve has been a controversial character due to his many unique options when optimized. Despite calls for it to be banned following Japanese Smash prodigy Acola dominated Steve, technology called “Phantom MLG” allows Steve to counter combos, cancel stuns, and retaliate once morest opponents who don’t. They don’t have the same level of play.

As a result, the character was banned from major tournaments, but now it’s the company Metafy that finds itself at the center of a major controversy. They posted and then deleted a photo showing two children, one holding a gun and the other holding an image of Steve, with the caption: “Kid holding something that’s banned in America for protection.” Guess which one. »

Netizens have spoken out strongly regarding the tasteless joke, with some emphasizing the importance of not making jokes regarding serious topics like gun laws in order to joke regarding competitive video games.
