Suresh Raina not fit to play in IPL: Sangakkara

Suresh Raina’s acquisition of the team after the IPL’s mega auction has come as a shock to all cricket fans. Despite having some of the best track records in the IPL, the player was becoming unpopular.

The acquisition of the Chennai Super Kings star has angered all CSK fans alike. With the acquisition of Dhoni and the dismissal of Raina, many fans have come out publicly against the team.

Now, Kumar Sangakkara, a former Sri Lankan international and Rajasthan Royals official, has come forward to point out why no team has acquired Raina.

Sangakkara’s finding that the player was not fit to play in this season of the IPL. The news is reported by Sea News.

‘As far as Suresh Raina is concerned, his name and fame in IPL cricket is unbelievable. He is legendary. Raina is a player who improves his performance at the end of each season.

When you go into the finer details, perhaps, he will not be fit to play this season.

Raina is not going to lose any of the value of the best player of all time, assuming no one is on the team for a season. This is what analysts, coaches and team owners always pay attention to, ”says Sangakkara.

His setback in the mega-auction was his withdrawal from the IPL in 2020 and his failure to deliver the expected performance in 2021.

Suresh Raina is the highest run scorer in the IPL. He has scored 5528 runs from 205 IPL matches.

He averaged 32.5, including 39 fifties, with a strike rate of 136.7.

But last season was not so good for Raina. He was only able to make a few appearances for Chennai.
