Just over a year ago, Meritor in Lindesberg, with roughly 900 employees, hired dog handlers from a private company to get help finding narcotics in the workplace. This was done following information from employees that there was drug dealing in the workplace.
– I don’t want to comment on the amount of drugs, but we have found cocaine, amphetamines, something called crystal or crab. We have also found unauthorized medicines such as tramadol that were not Swedish, says Anna Englund Beijer.
Drug testing staff
According to Meritor, the amount of drugs stored at the company is now zero. But you still see problems with employees who use drugs.
– The important thing is to help an employee out of possible abuse. We test our employees, regularly and irregularly. You can’t just test once, but it needs to be repeated, she says.
