Last weekend, Saturday at 4:30 p.m. to be exact, robbery was committed in a public establishment in Martigny. Two employees were threatened with a particularly realistic dummy firearm to obtain food.

Notified late Monday afternoon, the cantonal police immediately carried out the usual investigations. The first elements of the investigation were able to determine that the alleged perpetrator seemed to reside in the parking area reserved for Travelers in Martigny.

In order to maintain its policy of joint firmness with the Public Ministry, the cantonal police deployed an important device during the evening of Tuesday. This intervention led to the arrest at 8 p.m. of the alleged perpetrator of the robbery.

On the order of the Public Prosecutor, the defendant, a 21-year-old French national, was placed in pre-trial detention.
