‘Suspended due to Corona’ to resume operation of 5 routes between Korea and China

Some air routes between Korea and China, which were suspended due to the spread of COVID-19, have been resumed.

Incheon-Shanghai, Incheon-Hangzhou, Incheon-Shenzhen, Incheon-Wuhan, Incheon-Qingdao, five routes that have been suspended since the middle of last month, have recently resumed operations.

China Spring Airlines and Eastern Airlines resumed their flights from Incheon to Shanghai on the 15th and 18th, respectively.

Due to the lockdown in Shanghai due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the two flights are operated with destinations changed to Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province and Jinan in Shandong Province.

However, flights from Shanghai to Incheon will operate normally without changing the departure point.

In addition, Incheon-Qingdao routes (Shandong Air) resumed operation on the 15th, and Incheon-Shenzhen (Shenzhen Airlines) and Incheon-Wuhan (T’way Air) routes resumed operation on the 13th.

However, major routes such as Incheon-Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenyang and Changchun will be suspended until late April.

Incheon-Harbin (Asiana), Incheon-Xiamen (Xiamen Airlines), and Busan-Qingdao (Air Busan), which have continued to operate despite the corona situation, are scheduled to operate normally in April.

Last month, of the 26 routes between Korea and China (a round trip counted as one route), eight routes operated both round-trip, and seven routes operated only one-way from China to Korea.

This is in accordance with the ‘circuit break’ regulations of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, which suspend flights if the number of confirmed cases exceeds the standard on certain routes, and the closure of some airports in China.
