Suspension of maritime navigation in the Bosphorus Strait

The management of the Turkish Coast Guard announced on Sunday the suspension of maritime navigation in the Bosphorus Strait, due to bad weather conditions.

The coast guard said in a statement that vessel traffic had been suspended in both directions in the Bosphorus Strait.

And to note that the visibility in the strait was reduced to less than half a nautical mile.

The city of Istanbul has been experiencing snowfall since Friday evening, prompting the authorities to take important measures to prevent accidents.
