British start-up Bio-Sep specializes in converting non-food lignocellulosic biomass from agriculture and forestry into high-value biochemicals.

Bio-Sep has launched a joint industry project with the Innovation Center for Applied Sustainable Technologies, or iCAST, with the goal of developing large-scale manufacturing of sustainable biochemical substitutes for the composites and construction industries. The National Composites Center (NCC) is also involved in this project.
