Sven Schuwirth has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Cupra and will be responsible for the day-to-day business of the brand. He succeeds Antonino Labate, who left the company at his own request.
After studying industrial engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and the University of California, Sven Schuwirth began his professional career in the Volkswagen Group in 1999 at Audi. In 2004 he took over the management of brand development and corporate identity. From 2009 to 2016 he headed the brand development and digitization department. He then assumed responsibility for the Digital Business division. After a one-year stint at BMW, Schuwirth returned to Audi in 2019 as head of the newly established “Brand Audi, Digital Business and Customer Experience” department. He has been with Seat since mid-2021 and was most recently Director of Digital Business and Product Strategy. In his new role, Sven Schuwirth reports directly to Cupra boss Wayne Griffiths. (awm)
